Thai and Anni

We celebrated our anniversary up in Sacramento this weekend. We previously celebrated our first anniversay in Sacramento 37 years ago. Back then we arrived in town looking for a place to stay (no internet reservation) and drove around town for an hour and a half trying to find a place. We finally found an auto courtyard near the current 99 elevated freeway connection. It was okay.. but it should a lack on understand of how Sacramento is laid out.

Finding a hotel was not a problem this time. We had reservations at the Holiday Inn Express in downtown. For a Saturday night during Fair time we got a great deal at 59dollars. It even included breakfast the next AM and a very clean room. We used Hotwire to book and pay through paypal.. very neat.

Saturday Am we arrived in Sacramento.. Sue is still having a heard time sleeping at night so she took a nap and we scouted out a great "by the piece" pizza place nearby. We picked her up and took her Goodwill thriftstore shopping out at the Goodwill by Arden Fair. We found about 50 dollars worth of stuff that had to follow us home.

Sue finished up her nap while I took the girls to Costco. Linzi doesn't have a car so when one is available.. she has some serious shopping at Safeway or Costco to do.

When we arrived back to her place we gave Cammie and Dom a call but didn't get them. The challenge was laid down to find a series of Thai dishes that mom would like (not big on ginger and absolutely no cilantro). The girls conjured up a respectable menu and called in the order. Linzi and I picked it up on foot and carried it the 10 blocks home. It was great. I like asian pork and what was ordered fulfilled my interest. Heather ordered up a spicy salad (larg.. or something like that) that mom would not try.. its okay.. but I thought was great. Linzi ordered an orange (or is it red) curry and some safe saatay. Great dinner topped off with sticky rice, and mango pieces. Mom really went for that. We had enough left over for Sean when he finished is magic judging at the store that night.

This morning we were picked up by linzi. We headed over to Amtrak to get Heather on the train back home. Se had a great time socializing at Starbucks before Heather had to catch the train home.

We had a great trip.. and got to see a house that Linzi and Sean are considering. Overall a great way to spend the time with the girls in Sacramento.

Hope you had a great weekend too.

Pat
