Tom found out that Apple will install your memory for free at the genius bar. He had some memory for his wife's computer and some for his laptop as well.
I had thought that they may charge a fee. They did not. He had to pledge the Walmart watch battery pledge, I won't hold Apple responsible for any damage done while installing the memory..yada yada yada.
They guy in Burlingame at the genius bar recommended that Tom not even buy Apple memory because of its high cost.
So there is one thing that Tom could not wait to tell me about. It was one thing that he was sure that I didn't know. He was right. Apple does install the memory for you.. and as he found out in the Apple Sacramento store, for free.
It is usually really easy to put new memory in a desktop model. It can be tricky to put extra memory in a laptop. So it is good to know that Apple will do it for you.
